honestly I will forgive men for certain sexist remarks because hey we live in a really sexist society and there are some things that even *I* didn’t realize were sexist before they were specifically pointed out to me
but if I tell you that what you said was sexist and I explain why and your response is anything but a variation of “Wow I guess I never thought about it before but you’re right, that IS sexist. I’m so sorry, I won’t do it/say it again”
