au where Enjolras and Grantaire both have the same writing class and when they compare work they discover that their writing styles are EXTREMELY different and that their flaws lie in different areas

like R’s prose style is incredible but his plots become jumbled and aimless and everything falls into dystopia and complaints, with an explosive ending, rather than having a functioning moral or clear progression

while Enjolras’ style needs work, because he’s too direct, but his plots/frameworks are always solid, complete and original

and so even though they disagree on just about everything their professor sticks them together for a pairs project; and they have to collaborate and they bicker the entire time and just completely hate it-

but they work really hard on the project mostly to spite one-another (cue sexual tension and gradually becoming friends)

and they accidentally make something genuinely fucking amazing together, and it gets published and  Enjolras is so excited that their work is getting out there and changing lives that he just kisses the life out of Grantaire in glee and boom there you go co-author super-couple
