The audience follows his life as he is released from prison, adopts a daughter, and struggles with what it means to love and let go with help of God, all the while being chased by the grudge-baring Inspector Javert. In 1987, Les Mis was nominated for twelve Tony Awards and won eight. It is currently the longest running musical on the West End and fourth longest-running show on Broadway; recently a movie musical was produced and won three Oscars at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. A 2014 Broadway revival is currently in the works from producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh.}
